  • “I love the days when it shines, whoa let it shine”

After a fairly slow summer due to personal trips, work and social events…I had two photo shoots back to back this past weekend! Along with editing Behind the Scene photos from The Laundronauts’ new music video and organizing a print sale! I have also started the process of adding more of my film photographs to the galleries! Film is something I will always shoot and always be excited to display. Look out for film shots being added to “Misc

    Summer with Tedi

The start to my weekend was a photo shoot with Tedi, who is just starting her modeling career. I took her first modeling portraits for her, and it’s a pleasure to work with her again! The talented Make-up Artist/Hair Dresser Ben Shum did her make-up for this photo shoot, Tedi did her own hair and I choose the wardrobe/make-up/hair.

We went to the lovely Glendale Gardens & Woodland for the shoot, where they happened to have a wedding going on in part of the Garden! It was a beautiful wedding and sparked some “Wedding Crashers” style jokes. The gardens are thankfully large enough that we were able to avoid the wedding for the entire shoot, minus entering and leaving the gardens. It was a nice place to shoot as there were not a lot of people around “spectating”.

    Diana and Chica

My second shoot this weekend was with my long time friend, Diana, and her horse Chica! Diana has been a huge Canucks fan and a horseback rider for as long as I can remember; she’s won a lot of ribbons over the years with her horse Chica! Despite having known Diana since the 1st grade, this was our first official photo shoot together, while I did snap her photo a lot last year when we were roommates..it wasn’t the same. Haha.

Chica is up for sale for the time being so Diana can focus on school and this was a great chance to capture some memories for Diana. This was also my first photo shoot involving a live animal..a large one at that..and it was great experience! I used to help our friend with chores at the stable and I did ride for a bit, but it’s been a good number of years since I was near a horse that wasn’t in it’s stall!

I’m very happy with how the pictures turned out for this shoot and all in all glad to have been able to do this for Diana.
(Photos of Diana/Chica have been added to “Portraits -> General, and photos of just Chica have been added to “Misc)

    Behind the Scenes: The Laundronauts

On August 8th I was given the chance to take some Behind the Scene shots during the filming of the new Laundronauts‘ music video. I have to say that Behind the Scenes shooting is a lot of fun and this was another fun experience. I wasn’t able to stay the whole time, which was disappointing, but being “on set” is always interesting regardless!

The video was shot by Darryl LeCraw from “Skit for Brains” and Que Banh, “The Photography Elf“.

That is all from me for the time being. Along with having just received a large bag of film and dropping off 8 rolls of film in the meantime, I am headed to the Mainland soon where I will head out with Scott Alexander and Chris McKibbon for a photo adventure! I also have a photo shoot day trip in the works with Jon Faulknor and one or two models!

What does this all mean? More photographs to show you! My favourite thing!

    Cheers,

    Natalie

    Gone Fishin’?

I am proud to announce my newest package: GONE FISHIN’.

The point of this package is to help locals who are using any of the popular online dating websites have quality photographs worth displaying, but without breaking the bank. Online dating is more and more common as our lives get busier, we get older or we even just haven’t had luck meeting new people offline; even if you aren’t aware of it, many people you know have at least given these sites a shot.

It may not seem like your profile pictures really matter, but they do. All too many people use snapshots/low-quality photographs that really don’t flatter them in any way. The photographs you display, as well as your bio, are a large factor in whether or not someone contacts you. If your profile is full of grainy, poorly focused shots of yourself, it’s a turn off. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, but a poorly shot photograph does no one any good.

I can’t promise that these photographs will help you find your special someone but I can promise to give you a couple of photographs you’ll be proud to display on whichever site you use!

On top of all this, your privacy is very important to me. Don’t want anyone to know you use online dating sites? Don’t worry, no one but you and I need to know that’s what your portrait session is for! Using these sites is nothing to be ashamed of and if you choose to be open about it, that’s great, but it’s perfectly fine for it to be private.

    Cheers,

    Natalie

The main reason I have created a blog post solely for announcing this service, is to inform everyone of it in hopes you will pass this along to any friends or family members who may be interested, if you are not yourself. I thank you in advance for any sharing you do!
