I have no real photography news. I’m buying a new iMac this week when my credit card payment goes through, so that I can work on some photographs that I have been putting off. While I love my MacBook..it’s no longer under warrantly and it’s starting to slow down..as well I’ve maxed out the harddrive space!! Once I get my iMac set-up I’ll be sitting down and working on the photographs currently sitting on my harddrive and my memory card..as I’ll have the harddrive space and the ram to work on them without deleting something! haha.

I’m going to hijack my own photography blog for a pretty meaningful reason for a moment now.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes(Juvenile Diabetes) at the age of 6! This is my 15th year of dealing with this disease daily and the challenges it can bring.

For the first time, I am FINALLY participating in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes. I want to do my part to help those diabetics newly diagnosed and old timers like me(or those who haven’t been diagnosed yet…) have a chance to make this easier to deal with in day to day life.

What is the TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes?

The TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes provides an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about type 1 (juvenile) diabetes, raise much needed funds to continue essential JDRF funded research and is a great way for corporations and families to get out for a day of fun and fitness.

An estimated 246 million people worldwide are affected by diabetes. With a further 7 million people developing diabetes each year, that number is expected to hit 380 million by 2025. Approximately 10% of people with diabetes have type 1 diabetes.

I hope you will help me raise money for Diabetes Research, even if it’s only your pocket change! Any amount makes a difference and will be greatly appreciated!!
